On the night of March 3, 2000, many of us
gathered at the Great Hall of Cooper Union in
New York City to remember the man and the
legend whose life has affected our lives in
both large and infinitesimal ways.

Here, we have posted pictures from that
magical night. All photographs of the events
were taken by Emile Wamsteker, Jean Harvey,
and Ella Williams, and copyrighted by Phillip
Ward. The photographs of Quentin Crisp as
the "Angel of Peace" were by Panja Jurgens.

In the meantime, enjoy these pictures and
